In the process of installing vmware server on feisty I had to apply the following patches:

After I applying the 2 patches I was able to compile with no problems!

I had a really strange thing happen to me today!

Very strange, no!!?? Well When I did this query the problem stopped happening!

We got a fancy new server at gawab yesterday! specs as follows:

We used to use a debian iso from 3ware to install our servers. But this time the ethernet controllers were not recognized! The controller in question is the Intel 82563EB controller. You can find Linux drivers here. I configured the linux source tree for kernel 2.6.8 (the version used by the Debian CD) and made the new e1000 module! However, when we tried to continue the installation we found that Debian couldn’t recognize the 3ware card. After finding this article, the solution was apparent; i had to find a distro with a 2.6.19 kernel or better!

All I could find was feisty fawn herd 1. (Ubuntu 7.04 RC1) and for some reason it took an hour to download. but at last we burned it and installed.

As the bash language file doesn’t com with the plugin, I had to download it from the geshi site! but even then, the code box was not displaying the code correctly! To make it work I had to comment out the 3rd and 4th element in the REGEXPS array in the language file!

Before I bought my laptop i read several reviews. They all confirmed that the SD/MMC card was not working under Linux! Today I decided to explore and you can imagine my pleasant surprise when I found that all I needed to do to make it work was:

echo tifm_sd >> /etc/modules

I looked at a few plugins but I finally decided on iG:Syntax Hiliter. It’s easy to install and tweak!
In the css file, I changed the font size of the highlighted code to 11px (it was 13px) and the width of the code box to 445px (was 500px). It looks better now! The only problem is that I can’t seem to get the bash syntax to work!

It is 5:20 AM and I this is my third post today!! You see, my wife and I discovered that is not really easy to sleep with Mariam! (If she takes a deep breath we both wake up startled ) so when Mariam got her last feed at 3:00 AM I told my wife to sleep till the next feeding time (6:00 AM) and I will look after Mariam until then, giving her a chance to get some sleep! so here I am typing away on my laptop while she sits here in front of me sleeping! I have to go change her dippers as it looks (smells) like she has been to the bathroom

Now before you say “Yeah, I had a tough week too”, I will present you with a short summary of what my week was like

Wednesday 13 Dec: Dr. Mazloom tells me Mariam is 100% ok, the hospital tell me she her bilrubin level is down to 7. I take her home

Now that the week is over and I contemplate upon the happenings, I realize how much Allah has blessed me! I encourage anyone who goes through anything similar to have faith in Allah and never stop praying!

You know, all in all, I think we paid a very cheap price for Mariam (The light of my heart)

I usaly never forward stuff I get from mailing lists and stuff, but this video clip really touched me! so I decided to upload it

We forget to think about the simple gifts that Allah has bestowed on us and thank him for it! Remember that the best way to that Allah for his gifts is to use those gifts in good deeds!

So kiss your mother’s and father’s hand today and tell your family members how much you love them!! tomorrow you might not be able!
